How a Hangman duel works

Your match gets three words with their categories. You and your friend get exactly the same ones, in the same order.

The race starts the moment your friend opens the link: a shared countdown, so you both start at exactly the same time.
- 3Letter by letter
Right letters fill the blanks. Their bar shows how many letters they have found across all three words.
- 4No hints, six lives
Hints are off in a race. Every wrong letter costs 3 seconds, and six wrong letters on one word hangs you and loses the race.

How to beat your friend at Hangman
E, A, O and I fill the most blanks. Two or three quick vowels usually show the shape of the word.
Each one adds 3 seconds. A second spent thinking is often cheaper than a wild guess.
It’s your best clue. Once a few letters are in, the category often gives the whole word away.
On a keyboard you can type the letters straight in, which is quicker than clicking.
Why Hangman is made for 1v1
Hangman is the word guessing game everyone learns at school: blanks for a hidden word, one letter at a time, and a stick figure drawn for every wrong guess. Hangman 1v1 turns it into a live race between two players on the same words.
Every match gets three words with their categories, and both players get exactly the same ones. Every letter you try is replayed on our server, which counts the wrong ones itself, and the time is measured there from the shared start, so a win is a real win.
