Seven letters. One in the middle. How many words can you make?
Hive is a daily word puzzle built on a honeycomb of seven letters. Make words of four letters or more from them, and every word has to use the letter in the middle. Letters can be used as often as you like, so a hive with A, P, I, N and T in it makes PAINT, PAPA and TAINT alike.
Each word scores its length minus two, so longer words are worth more, and a word that uses all seven letters earns five extra points. Every hive has at least one. Fill the honey bar with points and the puzzle is done; after that you see every common word the hive could make, with the ones you found highlighted.
The goal is a share of what the hive holds, and it grows through the week: a quick fill on Monday, a proper hunt at the weekend. A new hive unlocks every day at midnight in your time zone, and practice mode gives you unlimited extra hives.

- Tip 1
Start with the middle letter plus common endings: -ING, -ED, -ER and -TION hide in many hives.
- Tip 2
Hunt for the word that uses all seven letters early. It is worth the most and often unlocks shorter words inside it.

Shuffle the outer letters with 🔀 when you run dry. A new order makes new words jump out.
- Tip 4
Doubled letters count. If the hive has an L and an O, try LOOP, TOLL and BALLOON patterns.

What are the rules of Hive?
Make words of at least four letters from the seven in the honeycomb. Every word must contain the middle letter, and letters can be used more than once. Proper nouns, hyphenated words and abbreviations do not count.
How do I finish the puzzle?
Every word adds points to the honey bar. Once the bar is full, the puzzle is solved and your time is recorded. You do not need to find every word, only enough points to fill the hive.
Why was my word not accepted?
It may be too short, miss the middle letter, use a letter outside the hive, or not be in our word list. The list is made of common English words, in both US and UK spelling.

Yes. Every hive is built from a word that uses all seven letters, and finding one scores 5 extra points.
How are points calculated?
Faster solves score more and each hint costs points. Weekend hives are worth up to double. Solve the daily on consecutive days to build your streak.
