Balance every line. Never three in a row.
Sun & Moon is a quick logic puzzle in the binary family, also known as Takuzu, Binairo or Tango. Fill every square of the grid with a sun or a moon so that each row and each column holds the same number of each, and never put three of the same next to each other, across or down.
Some squares are filled in for you, and small signs sit between some pairs of squares: an = means the two squares match, a × means they are different. Every puzzle has exactly one solution, so you can always find the next square by reasoning instead of guessing.
Early in the week you get a 6×6 grid with plenty of help. Midweek the help thins out, and at the weekend the grid grows to 8×8. A new puzzle unlocks every day at midnight in your time zone, and practice mode gives you unlimited extra grids.

🎮How to play
- 1
Tap an empty square once for a sun, twice for a moon, and a third time to empty it again.
- 2
Every row and column must end up with as many suns as moons.
- 3
Never put three suns or three moons next to each other in a row or column.
- 4
An = between two squares means they are the same; a × means they are different.
- 5
Squares that break a rule turn red straight away. Fill the whole grid correctly to win.
💡Tips & tricks
- Tip 1
Two of a kind side by side? The squares on both ends must be the other kind.
- Tip 2
A gap between two of the same, like sun, empty, sun, must be the other kind too, or you’d get three in a row.
- Tip 3
Count each line: once a row has all its suns, every empty square left in it is a moon.
- Tip 4
Follow chains of signs. A run of = and × signs links several squares, and settling one settles them all.
🙋Questions
What are the rules of Sun & Moon?
Fill the grid so every row and column has equal numbers of suns and moons, with never three of the same in a row or column. An = sign means two squares match; a × sign means they differ.
Is Sun & Moon like Tango or Takuzu?
Yes. It is the same family of binary logic puzzles as Takuzu, Binairo and LinkedIn’s Tango, with suns and moons instead of 0s and 1s.
Is there only one solution?
Yes. Every daily and practice puzzle is checked to have exactly one solution, so it can always be solved with logic alone.
How are points calculated?
Faster solves score more and each hint costs points. Weekend grids are worth up to double. Solve the daily on consecutive days to build your streak.
