Seven pieces, one silhouette. Make them fit.
Tangram is one of the oldest puzzles in the world. Seven flat pieces (two large triangles, a medium triangle, two small triangles, a square and a parallelogram) are cut from one square. Put them back together in a new way and they can form almost anything: a cat, a boat, a running man, or a shape no one has named yet.
Every day you get a fresh dark silhouette. Your job is to fill it completely with all seven pieces, without overlaps and without anything sticking out. Drag a piece into place and it snaps neatly to the grid; tap it to turn it, and flip the parallelogram to get its mirror image.
A new Tangram arrives every day at midnight in your time zone, the same shape for everyone. Early in the week the outline shows a dotted guide or two to get you going; on harder days you are on your own, and the shapes get more compact. Many shapes can be filled in more than one way, and any perfect fit counts.

🎮How to play
- 1
Drag the pieces from the tray at the bottom into the dark shape. They snap to the grid when you let go.
- 2
Tap a piece to turn it a quarter turn. Use Flip to mirror it (that matters most for the parallelogram).
- 3
Use all seven pieces. They may not overlap or stick out of the shape.
- 4
The bar under the board shows how much of the shape is filled. Reach 100% to win.
- 5
Stuck? A hint places one piece for you and locks it in place.
💡Tips & tricks
- Tip 1
Start with the two large triangles. Together they fill half the shape, so their place decides almost everything else.
- Tip 2
Look for sharp corners and thin points in the outline. A 45° spike usually needs a small triangle or the tip of a large one.
- Tip 3
The square and the parallelogram are the pickiest pieces: once you know where they go, the triangles tend to fall into place.
- Tip 4
Dotted lines inside the outline on easier days show exactly where one piece belongs. Place those first.
🙋Questions
Is there only one right answer?
No. Many silhouettes can be filled in several ways, and any arrangement that covers the whole shape with all seven pieces, with no overlaps and nothing sticking out, counts as solved.
Why can I only turn pieces a quarter turn?
Every daily shape is built on a grid where all piece corners line up, so quarter turns and flips are all you ever need. It keeps dragging quick and snapping precise, especially on a phone.
What does a hint do?
It moves one piece into its spot in the shape and locks it there. You get three hints per puzzle, and each one costs some points.
How are points calculated?
Faster solves score more and each hint costs points. Harder weekend shapes are worth up to double. Solve the daily on consecutive days to build your streak.
