Hangman is the classic word guessing game. A word is hidden behind a row of blanks, and you guess it one letter at a time. Every letter that is in the word shows up in its place. Every letter that isn’t adds a part to the stick figure on the gallows: head, body, arms and legs. Six wrong letters and he’s hanged.
Daily Hangman gives you three words a day, each with its category as a clue, and a fresh figure for every word. Everybody gets the same three words, so you can compare with friends and climb the leaderboard. It’s free, it runs in your browser on phone or computer, and there’s nothing to download.
Early in the week the words are short and everyday: fruit, animals, things around the house. Midweek they get longer. Weekends bring the tricky ones, long words and short words built from rare letters like J, Q, X and Z.

💡Tips & tricks
- Tip 1
Start with the vowels. E and A are in more words than any other letters, then O and I.
- Tip 2
After the vowels, try the most common consonants: T, N, S, R and L.
- Tip 3
Use the category. Many countries end in A or IA, and many jobs end in ER.
- Tip 4
Look at the length and the letters you already have. Endings like ING, ER and LE are common.
- Tip 5
Keep your hint for the end of a word, when one letter is all that stands between you and the answer.

How do you play hangman?
Guess the hidden word one letter at a time. Right letters fill in the blanks; wrong ones draw the stick figure, part by part. Guess the word before the figure is complete (six wrong letters) and you win.
Is it the same words for everyone?
Yes. Every player gets the same three words each day, so the leaderboard is a fair race. Practice mode has endless random words if you want more.
What happens if the figure is hanged?
That word shows its answer and today’s game ends without points, and your daily streak starts again. You can still play practice games.
Can I play hangman on my phone?
Yes. Tap the letters on the on-screen keyboard. On a computer you can just type. It works in any browser with no app needed.
How are points calculated?
A quick game with no wrong letters scores up to 1000 points. Time, wrong letters and hints each take a share, and the harder weekend words are worth up to double.
