Count to the end. Every number touches the next.
Hidato is a number logic puzzle, played here on a honeycomb. The board holds every number from 1 up to the number of hexagons, and each number has to sit in a hexagon that shares a side with the one before it. A few numbers are given, including the first and the last. Your job is to fill in the rest so the numbers form one unbroken chain.
Every daily Hidato has exactly one solution, and you can always reach it by reasoning, no guessing needed. Monday and Tuesday bring a small honeycomb of 35 hexagons, the middle of the week a larger one with more shaded gaps, and weekends the full board with fewer numbers to lean on. The shaded hexagons give every puzzle its own shape.
A new Hidato unlocks every day at midnight in your time zone, and everyone gets the same board. Practice mode gives you unlimited new puzzles at any size.

🎮How to play
- 1
Find 1. The chain of numbers starts there and ends on the highest number.
- 2
Tap any number on the board, then tap a hexagon next to it to place the next number. Keep tapping or drag to carry on.
- 3
Switch Count to DOWN to fill backwards from a number, or type numbers with your keyboard.
- 4
If two numbers in a row don’t touch, their hexagons turn red. Undo, erase, or place the number somewhere else.
- 5
Fill every open hexagon so the chain runs unbroken from 1 to the end to solve the puzzle.
💡Tips & tricks
- Tip 1
Look at the gaps between given numbers. If 12 and 15 are given, 13 and 14 must fit in the hexagons between them, often in just one way.
- Tip 2
When two given numbers are exactly as many steps apart as their difference, the chain between them has no room to wander.
- Tip 3
Hexagons on the edge and next to shaded ones have fewer neighbours. Work out which numbers can reach them early.
- Tip 4
Count down as well as up. A stretch that looks open from below is often forced when you come at it from the number above.
🙋Questions
What is Hidato?
Hidato is a logic puzzle where you fill a board with consecutive numbers so each number touches the next. It was invented by the Israeli mathematician Gyora Benedek, is also known as Hidoku, and is played on squares or, like here, on hexagons.
When does the new Hidato puzzle come out?
A new Hidato unlocks every day at midnight in your local time. Everyone who plays on the same date gets the same board, so you can compare times with friends.
Is there only one solution?
Yes. Every daily and practice Hidato is checked to have exactly one solution, so you can always solve it by logic without guessing.
How are points calculated?
Faster solves score more and each hint costs points. Bigger weekend boards are worth up to double. Solve the daily on consecutive days to build your streak.
