How a Type Rush duel works
- 1One text for both
A fresh text is picked for your match. You and your friend type exactly the same sentences.
- 23-2-1, go
The race starts the moment your friend opens the link: a shared countdown, and the text appears for both of you at once.
- 3Watch their bar
Their bar shows how many words they have typed. Yours shows the same to them.
- 4Typos cost time
Every wrong, missing or extra letter you leave in adds a second to your time. Fix them with Backspace as you go.
Who wins?
The lowest time wins: your typing time plus a second for every typo left in. Times are checked on our server.
Can still lose. Five typos left cost five seconds, more than most races are won by.
The other player wins straight away.

How to beat your friend at Type Rush
A typo left in costs a full second. Fixing it as you go usually costs less.
Keep your eyes a word or two in front of your fingers, and you never have to stop.
A physical keyboard is much faster than a phone. If you both can, race on computers.
Glancing at your rival breaks your rhythm. Your race is with the text.

Every race gets its own fresh text, and both players type exactly the same sentences. Every keystroke is played back on our server, which works out the time and counts the typos itself, so a win is a real win.

No. Races use their own fresh texts, so racing never spoils today’s daily or touches your daily streak.
