How a Reaction Time duel works

  1. 1One test for both

A fresh test is made for your match. You and your friend get exactly the same waits and the same decoys, round after round.

  2. 23-2-1, go

The race starts the moment your friend opens the link: a shared countdown, and the first red wait begins for both of you at once.

  3. 3Quicker reactions finish first

Each round starts as soon as the last one ends, so every millisecond you save brings your finish closer. Their bar shows their rounds.

  4. 4False starts hurt

Tap before green, on a decoy, or within 100 ms of green, and the round goes again with a whole new wait. The third false start loses the race.

Who wins?

Both finish

The first through every round wins. Times are measured on our server from the shared start.

Someone makes a third false start

They are out, and the other player wins.

Someone leaves, drops out for 15 seconds, or stops playing

The other player wins straight away.

Want another go?

Either of you can offer a rematch: one tap, new waits, a new 3-2-1.

How to beat your friend at Reaction Time

Never guess

A false start costs you a whole new wait, which is far more than any quick tap can win back.

Decoys are not green

Blue and purple flashes carry a hand. Only green says TAP. Let the decoys go by.

Rest your finger

Keep it just above the screen, or on the space bar on a computer, so there is no distance to cover.

Forget your rival

Watching their bar only slows you down. Your race is with the panel in front of you.

Why Reaction Time is made for 1v1

Reaction Time is the purest test of reflexes there is: wait on red, tap on green. Head to head it gets tense, because both players face the same waits and the same decoys, and the race is decided by milliseconds and by who keeps their nerve.

Every Reaction Time 1v1 gets its own fresh set of waits, and both players get the identical rounds. Every try is checked on our server, which counts the false starts itself, and the time is measured there from the shared start, so a win is a real win.

Races are live. Send the link, keep the page open, and the moment your friend opens it you both get the same 3-2-1. If someone leaves mid-race or stops playing, the other player wins, and either of you can call a rematch in one tap. It is free, it runs in any browser, and nobody needs an account: just a name.

Prefer to play alone? Today’s daily Reaction Time is the same for everyone, with its own leaderboard and streak.

Reaction Time 1v1 questions

Can I test my reaction time against a friend online?

Yes. Tap “Challenge a friend”, send the link by WhatsApp, text or any app, and your friend gets the exact same test. Keep the page open: the race starts the moment they open it.

How is the winner decided in Reaction Time 1v1?

The first player through every round wins. A player who makes three false starts is out, and the other player wins.

Is it fair if my friend has a slower phone?

Both of you face the same waits, but screens and touch panels add a few milliseconds of their own. For the closest races, play on similar devices.

Does a 1v1 match use the daily test?

No. Matches use their own fresh waits, so racing never spoils today’s daily or touches your daily streak.

Is Reaction Time 1v1 free?

Yes, completely free in your browser on phone or computer. No download and no account: your friend just opens the link, picks a name, and plays.
