Follow the numbers. Reveal the picture.
A nonogram is a picture logic puzzle, also called Picross, Griddlers, Hanjie or paint by numbers. Each row and column has a clue: a list of numbers giving the runs of filled squares in that line, in order. Work out which squares are filled, and a hidden picture appears.
Every daily nonogram here is a picture drawn by hand, from a cup of coffee to a lighthouse, and every one is checked so that it can be solved one line at a time, by logic alone. You never have to guess. When the clues on their own aren’t quite enough, a few squares are filled in for you at the start.
Early in the week you get a 10×10 picture, with a few free squares on Mondays and Tuesdays. Midweek there are no free squares, and from Friday to Sunday the grid grows to 15×15. A new puzzle unlocks every day at midnight in your time zone, and practice mode has more pictures to solve.

🎮How to play
- 1
The numbers beside each row and above each column are the runs of filled squares in that line, in order. 3 1 means three filled squares in a row, a gap, then one more.
- 2
Between two runs there is always at least one empty square.
- 3
Tap a square to fill it, or drag along a row or column to fill several. Tap it again to empty it.
- 4
Switch to ✕ (or right-click) to cross out squares you know are empty. Crosses are just notes for you.
- 5
A clue fades once its line matches it. Make every row and column match to reveal the picture.
💡Tips & tricks
- Tip 1
Start with the big clues. A run of 8 in a line of 10 must cover the middle six squares, wherever it sits.
- Tip 2
Add up a line: 4 2 3 needs at least 4 + 2 + 3 plus two gaps, 11 squares. If that is close to the line’s length, most of it is fixed.
- Tip 3
Cross out squares as soon as you know they are empty. Crosses at the edges often settle a whole run.
- Tip 4
Work back and forth. Every square you settle in a row is a new clue for its column.
🙋Questions
What is a nonogram?
A nonogram is a logic puzzle where you fill squares in a grid using number clues for each row and column. The numbers give the runs of filled squares in order, and the finished grid is a picture. It is also known as Picross, Griddlers, Hanjie and paint by numbers.
How do you solve a nonogram?
Look for lines where the clue nearly fills the line, and fill the squares that every possible placement shares. Cross out squares that must be empty. Each settled square helps the line that crosses it, so keep switching between rows and columns.
Do I ever have to guess?
No. Every puzzle here is checked with a solver that works one line at a time, the way people do. If a picture can’t be finished that way, a few squares are given for free at the start.
Is it the same puzzle for everyone?
Yes. Everyone gets the same picture each day, so the leaderboard is fair. Practice mode has more pictures in all three sizes.
How are points calculated?
Faster solves score more and each hint costs points. Weekend 15×15 pictures are worth up to double. Solve the daily on consecutive days to build your streak.
