Hue Shift 1v1
Swap tiles until the colours blend smoothly. Dotted tiles stay put.
How a Hue Shift duel works
- 1One board for both
A fresh colour board is made for your match. You and your friend get exactly the same colours, pinned tiles and scramble.
- 23-2-1, go
The race starts the moment your friend opens the link: a shared countdown, so you both start swapping at exactly the same time.
- 3Tiles home
Drag or tap to swap tiles until every one sits in its place. Your friend’s bar shows how many of their tiles are home.
- 4Speed beats neatness
In a race only the clock counts. Extra swaps cost nothing but the time they take. Hints are off.
Who wins?
The first smooth board wins. Times are measured on our server from the shared start.
The other player wins straight away.
Either of you can offer a rematch: one tap, new colours, a new 3-2-1.

How to beat your friend at Hue Shift
Tiles next to a pinned tile only have to match one colour. Fill outward from there.
Every board runs from light at the top left to dark at the bottom right. Sort by brightness first, colour second.
Finish a row or column before moving on. A finished line makes the next one easy to read.
Tiles home can jump in bursts at the end, when everything left falls into place at once.
Why Hue Shift is made for 1v1
Hue Shift is a calm puzzle that turns frantic the moment someone else is sorting the same colours. Every tile has one right place in a smooth gradient, and the race is about how fast your eye can tell two almost identical shades apart.
Every Hue Shift 1v1 gets its own freshly made board, and both players get the identical colours and scramble. Every swap is replayed on our server, and the time is measured there from the shared start, so a win is a real win.
Races are live. Send the link, keep the page open, and the moment your friend opens it you both get the same 3-2-1. If someone leaves mid-race or stops playing, the other player wins, and either of you can call a rematch in one tap. It is free, it runs in any browser, and nobody needs an account: just a name.
Prefer to play alone? Today’s daily Hue Shift is the same for everyone, with its own leaderboard and streak.
