Equate 1v1
Each row is one guess, and you get 6. Type a true equation (like the faint one) and press Enter.
Guess the hidden equation in six tries. Green is right, yellow is in it somewhere.
How a Equate duel works
- 1One equation for both
A fresh seven-character equation is hidden for your match, like 12+35=47. You and your friend are guessing the same one.
- 23-2-1, go
The race starts the moment your friend opens the link: a shared countdown, so you both start guessing at exactly the same time.
- 3Colours tell you
Every guess must be a true equation. Green means right character, right place; yellow means it’s in there somewhere. Their bar shows how many greens their last guess got.
- 4Six rows
Run out of rows without cracking it and the race goes to your friend.
Who wins?
The first correct equation wins. Times are measured on our server from the shared start.
The other player wins.
The other player wins straight away.

How to beat your friend at Equate
Use many different digits and an operator in your first guess. More different characters means more colours to learn from.
Knowing whether it’s +, −, × or ÷ shrinks the possibilities more than any single digit.
A quick guess learns something fast, but six rows go quickly. Make every guess use what the colours told you.
If their bar jumps to six, they are one guess away. That’s the moment to take a sensible risk.
Why Equate is made for 1v1
Equate is the maths take on the daily word game: a hidden equation, six tries, and colours that tell you what’s right. Racing someone on the same equation adds a second pressure, because every row you spend thinking is a row they might use to crack it first.
Every Equate 1v1 gets its own fresh equation, and both players chase the identical answer. Every guess is replayed on our server, and the time is measured there from the shared start, so nobody can fake a win.
Races are live. Send the link, keep the page open, and the moment your friend opens it you both get the same 3-2-1. If someone runs out of rows, leaves mid-race or stops playing, the other player wins, and either of you can call a rematch in one tap. It is free, it runs in any browser, and nobody needs an account: just a name.
Prefer to play alone? Today’s daily Equate is the same for everyone, with its own leaderboard and streak.
Equate 1v1 questions
Can I play a maths wordle against a friend online?
Yes. Tap “Challenge a friend”, send the link by WhatsApp, text or any app, and your friend gets the exact same hidden equation. Keep the page open: the race starts the moment they open it.
How is the winner decided in Equate 1v1?
The first player to type the right equation wins. If one of you runs out of rows, the other wins. Times are measured on our server from the shared start.
Does using fewer guesses help?
Only by saving time: in a race the clock decides. But six rows run out fast, so careful guesses usually win.
Does a 1v1 match use the daily Equate?
No. Matches use their own fresh equations, so racing never spoils today’s daily or touches your daily streak.
Is Equate 1v1 free?
Yes, completely free in your browser on phone or computer. No download and no account: your friend just opens the link, picks a name, and plays.
