How a Pop! duel works

  1. 1One board for both

A fresh board is made for your match. You and your friend get exactly the same bubbles, in the same places, drifting the same way.

  2. 23-2-1, go

The race starts the moment your friend opens the link: a shared countdown, so you both start at exactly the same time.

  3. 3Pop in order

Pop 1, 2, 3… up to the last bubble. Your opponent’s progress bar climbs next to yours as they go.

  4. 4Wrong pop = +1s

Hitting the wrong number doesn’t end your run, but it adds a second. Speed matters, but so does a steady hand.

Who wins?

Both finish

Lowest final time wins: last pop plus penalty seconds.

Same time to the hundredth

Fewer wrong pops wins. Still level? It’s a draw. Rematch!

Someone leaves, drops out for 15 seconds, or stops playing for a minute

The other player wins straight away.

How to beat your friend at Pop!

Look one ahead

While your finger heads for bubble 7, your eyes should already be hunting for 8. That overlap is where races are won.

Don’t watch the other bar

Their progress is right there, and it’s tempting. Every glance costs you a few hundredths.

Steady beats frantic

One wrong pop costs a full second, more than you gain by rushing three bubbles. Fast, but clean.

Two thumbs on phones

Split the board: left thumb for the left half, right thumb for the right. It cuts the travel time in half.

Why Pop! is made for 1v1

Pop! is the simplest race there is: numbered bubbles, tap them in order, fastest time wins. That simplicity is exactly why it works so well head to head. There is nothing to learn, a round takes under a minute, and the gap between two players is often just a few tenths of a second, close enough that everybody wants a rematch.

Every 1v1 match gets its own freshly generated board, and both players see the identical layout. On harder boards the bubbles drift, and they drift the same way for both of you, so nobody gets an easier spread. Times are measured to the hundredth of a second and every run is re-checked on our server tap by tap, so a win is a real win.

Every Pop! 1v1 is live. Send the link, keep the page open, and the moment your friend opens it you both get the same 3-2-1. If someone leaves mid-race or stops playing, the other player wins, and either of you can call a rematch in one tap. It is free, it runs in any browser, and nobody needs an account: just a name.

Prefer to play alone? Today’s daily Pop! is the same for everyone, with its own leaderboard and streak.

Pop! 1v1 questions

Can I play Pop! against a friend online?

Yes. Tap “Challenge a friend”, send the link by WhatsApp, text or any app, and your friend gets the exact same board. Keep the page open: the race starts the moment they open it.

How is the winner decided in Pop! 1v1?

The lowest final time wins. Your time is the moment your last bubble pops, plus one second for every wrong bubble. If times are identical to the hundredth, fewer wrong pops wins.

Do we get the same bubbles?

Yes. Every match uses one board for both players (same numbers, same positions, same drift), so the only difference is how fast you are.

Does a 1v1 match use the daily Pop! board?

No. Matches use their own fresh boards, so dueling never spoils today’s daily or touches your daily streak.

Is Pop! 1v1 free?

Yes, completely free in your browser on phone or computer. No download and no account: your friend just opens the link, picks a name, and plays.
